In Pokemon Emerald, both teams are equally important and they will be fighting each other to get to their own goal. In the end, both Groudon and Kyogre will be awakened. You will then have to wake up Rayquaza to end the fight between the two legendary Pokemon. You will then be able to catch 3 legendary Pokemon instead of only 1. Does the concept sound a bit strange? It is. But the developers at Chunsoft did a fantastic job merging such a unique blend of mechanics, and the game is quite good overall.

Emerald did have a few limitations imposed upon it from a technical standpoint, however. So while fairly minor, the game has some idiosyncratic flaws.
